_Riyadha Mosque & Islamic Center

Information

In 2008, the Riyadha Mosque underwent another extension, this time enlarging the original interior mosque and requiring the Mihrab to be moved from its original location. It was kept as the original Mihrab for historical reasons.

A simple rectangular shape with spaces that include a prayer hall, and teaching spaces. Many additions have been brought on the building throughout the years.

The mosque was re-extended in 1901 C.E., although it kept its original form and style. But Sayyid Aidarus, Habib Swaleh’s son, restored the mosque in 1947 C.E. He constructed the Ribat Area and the well-known Green Dome. The Ribat building, which was attached to the main mosque, was designed specifically for academic and other religious purposes. In 1982,  an academy adjacent to the Riyadha mosque.
