The Mosques of Mosul from destruction to reconstruction: Al Basha Mosque as a case study

Mosques have great importance in the lives of Muslims without other buildings, so they were and still targets for enemies, where they are destroy what they can. The mosques in the city of Mosul were destroyed, some of them destroyed by the worst of manners, these caused deep wounds in the hearts of their in habitants. This is accompanied by the liberation of the city from destruction and ruin because the battle has a special character. A fierce enemy in the middle of a city with a very complex morphology of the military side, which means repeated attacks and tactical withdrawal to withdrawal the enemy into open areas to eliminate them. The resulted of operation which lasted for many months violent bombardment of the ground and air, it was resulted in serious damage of the old Mosul structure, including mosques. The damage of mosques is in varying degrees, however, it is possible to say most of them can be returned, and its damaged is partial and some of them have already rebuilt and prayer has been resumed, but the citizen´s ambitions is to rebuild all the city.
