Yunus Emre Mosque

The Yunus Emre mosque is a Turkish mosque in the Genk district of Sledderlo , located at Wintergroenstraat 61, designed by architect Guido Walgrave . The mosque belongs to the Turkish Diyanet .
The Turkish Mosque Association started its activities in Sledderlo in 1982. The meetings initially took place in an emergency building, and construction of a definitive mosque began in 1996, which was completed in 2002.
The mosque has a central prayer room with an area of 1185 m 2 . There is a dome and a minaret . The mosque is surrounded by a number of spaces that are used for social activities, among other things. The mosque is named after the poet Yunus Emre , one of Turkey 's most important Sufi poets .
