The Turkish Mosque Association started its activities in Sledderlo in 1982. The meetings initially took place in an emergency building, and construction of a definitive mosque began in 1996, which was completed in 2002.


The mosque has a central prayer room with an area of ​​1185 m 2 . There is a dome and a minaret . The mosque is surrounded by a number of spaces that are used for social activities, among other things. The mosque is named after the poet Yunus Emre , one of Turkey 's most important Sufi poets .
