Masjid Kampus UGM, owned by Universitas Gadjah Mada, is the largest campus mosque in Yogyakarta. Originally named Masjid Sholahudin UGM, it is located within the UGM Campus Mosque Complex on Jl. Olahraga, Bulaksumur, Depok, Sleman, Yogyakarta 55281.
Construction of the mosque began on May 21, 1998, on land that was formerly a Chinese cemetery. The entire building process was carried out by students from UGM’s Department of Architecture and Engineering, with the total construction cost amounting to 9.5 billion rupiah. The mosque was officially inaugurated on December 4, 1999.
Architecturally, the UGM Campus Mosque showcases a unique fusion of styles, combining elements from Al-Masjid an-Nabawi in Medina with Chinese, Indian, and Javanese influences. One of its standout features is a courtyard pool, inspired by the iconic pool at the Taj Mahal.
