_Ponsonby Mosque

Information

This mosque is located in an urban context in Grey Lynn area, not far from Auckland Port Fitzroy and city centre. Located between houses, the mosque’s architecture has influences from the Indian subcontinent (pointed arches) and a unique feature being its large green dome. This a typical suburban mosque and one of the oldest in the area. It continues to be an active centre for the Muslim community of Auckland.
