Penang State Mosque is the state mosque for the state of Penang , Malaysia. It is located in the Northeast District. The State Mosque is administered by an Islamic Affairs Officer assisted by mosque officials and staff appointed by the government.
The mosque was inspired by Brazilian Oscar Niemeyer’s design of Cathedral of Brasilia in Brasilia, capital of Brazil. Its architecture is an amalgamation of Western Modernist. The mosque was designed by the Filipino architect, Efren Brindez Paz.
