The Lages mosque has a beautiful architecture, contrasting the colours of green and white on the outside, and inside the beauty in the distribution of colours, in the position of the furniture and light fixtures gives great beauty to the place. There is also a large prayer hall, a library, classrooms, and rooms for the Sheik. The local Muslim community is totally Sunni, and is formed by about 50 families, many of Arab origin, but there are already a large number of Brazilian reverts, and the mosque is always open for activities and visits by students to the site. The mosque is one of the few in the interior of Brazil that is open for all daily Muslim prayers at all times (except in the morning) and every day. The local religious leader is the Lebanese Sheik Osman Mohamed Charif, and is connected to CDIAL, based in SĂŁo Bernardo do Campo, SP. The mosque is open to anyone who wants to visit.
