The Mosque of Florianópolis includes an Arab-Brazilian school, a mosque, a social-cultural events hall, a library, a centre for the study of Islamic religion and culture, a sports court, as well as a parking lot for 65 vehicles, all in an area of 5,000 m2. The building stands out for being located in the Coqueiros neighbourhood, one of the noblest in the city. The minaret of the mosque can be seen from most neighbourhoods of the tourist island, becoming the main Arab and Islamic reference.
