The composition of the mosque attracts attention with its not too complex, but at the same time, rather multifaceted design. It has a medium height, a rounded dome and a high three-level minaret, located on the north side of the building.
The architectural ensemble of the Abuzar mosque is created by an external rectangular base and an internal polyhedron of the central hall. Separate entrances are always open for men and women, which can be accessed from the western and eastern facades, respectively. Each prayer hall has its own wardrobe, bathrooms and rooms for wudu – small ablution.
The exterior finish is made of light pink shell rock, and the basement walls are covered with gray granite. Also, traditional Bulgarian motifs were used in the design, which can be seen in the decoration of door and window openings.
The interior of the mosque is characterized by modesty and asceticism. Entering the men’s room, you can see a fairly simple wall decoration with marble stone and natural wood. Along the walls, at the level of the second floor, there is a spacious balcony. The decoration is completed by a beautiful crystal chandelier and lamps on the walls, made in the form of medieval candlesticks.
Despite the fact that the mosque does not have a high minbar where the imam could rise above the parishioners, every Friday, during the Friday prayer, which is obligatory for all Muslims, very interesting and informative sermons are read here, telling about the life of the Prophets and their companions.
