Ijumaa Mosque is a mosque in Stone Town, Zanzibar, Tanzania. It was built in the 19th century. Compared with the large mosques of other Islamic cities, which were often decorated with domes and tall minarets, the mosques of Zanzibar are relatively plain and unpretentious. However, in 1994 the Ijumaa Mosque underwent a complete reconstruction that gave it an exclusively Arab architectural and design impact and the appearance of the significant mihrab known to be found in Tanzania
The mosque is rectangular shaped mosque, at the heart of the Muslim neighbourhood of Stone Town.
