Hira Mosque is located in front of Gyotoku Station in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture. It was founded in 1997 under the leadership of the Islamic Circle of Japan (ICOJ) through fund-raising activities by Muslims who lived in the area. It was renovated in 2005 and looks like a mosque as it is today.
With the establishment of the mosque, the number of Muslims living in the area has continued to increase year by year, and many halal restaurants and shops have opened around Gyotoku. The building has 3 floors where the first floor is allocated place for women’s prayers, the second floor is allocated for men prayers and the third floor is offices and classroom.
