The El-Rahman Mosque was inaugurated in September 2015 to accommodate more believers from a growing community. The Islamic community in the city of Francisco Beltrão, whose population is approximately 85,000, consists of about 70 people. Most of this community works in the halal slaughtering in the city. There are many Islamic immigrants from Bangladesh (the biggest group), besides Muslims coming from Africa (Congo, Ghana, Morocco, Somalia) and Pakistan, a few Arabs and Brazilians reverted to Islam. There is also a fundamental feminine presence: the wives of immigrant foreigners. It offers Portuguese classes for immigrants and soon there will also be Arabic language classes.
The mosque occupies a room in a commercial building in the city of Francisco Beltrão, Brazil.
