The Bilal Mosque is the second mosque built in Chile, and is located in the southern sector of the city of Iquique. In 1997 a group of Pakistani businessmen residing in the capital of the Tarapacá Region bought land for the construction of a mosque and a madrassa in the city. The Bilal Mosque was completed in 1999. The mosque has a centralized, two-story floor plan, totalling approximately 180 m2. In the centre of the composition is a golden dome and a single minaret.
