_Baitul Mukhlisin Islamic Center Mosque (Bintang Emas)

Information

Also known as Bintang Emas (Gold Star) as the mosque has a star on the top of the dome coated in gold colour. The building applies an Arabic architectural style combined with local Lampung culture. Most of the buildings use architecture with Arabic ornaments. Building materials are selected from Lampung and andesite marble stones that enhance space and minimize maintenance costs.

The characteristic of Lampung can be seen in the shape of the mosque roof which adopts the characteristics of traditional Lampung houses and is in harmony with the shape of Mount Pesagi in West Lampung Regency. The shape of the roof listplank adopts the kirai carving elements of traditional Lampung houses. The decorative elements typical of this region are also seen in the stained glass which adopts tapis cloth ornaments and the meeting of columns and beams which are equipped with traditional Lampung paguk ornaments. Entering the mosque area, nine monuments are seen which are symbols of the nine guardians who spread Islam in Indonesia. While the space inside the mosque measuring 33 x 33 meters is a symbol of the number of dhikr.

The building materials of the Islamic Center Mosque were chosen from Lampung marble and andesite which beautify the space and minimize maintenance costs. The structure of the mosque building also refers to the concept of earthquake-resistant buildings that take into account the lateral and vertical forces of the load.

In addition to being a place of worship, the mosque also has a social function. There are several functional rooms such as a secretariat room, library, and meeting room. In the yard there is also a plaza that can be used as a training arena for hajj rituals and various religious activities.

The Islamic Center Mosque was built as a form of interpretation of the ideals and desires of the ancestors of the West Lampung community who had long desired a building that could accommodate various socio-religious activities.

In the future, the Islamic Center Mosque is prepared to become a center for integrated religious development and coaching activities in order to realize West Lampung which upholds religious and moral values. For this reason, the West Lampung Regency Government plans to build a religious school in the mosque complex.
