
The renowned Hajee Soofie, who emigrated to South Africa in 1895, in charge of establishing 13 Madrassas, building 11 additional mosques, and setting out numerous cemeteries. He passed away in 1911, and his remains were placed in the mausoleum he created, which is an octagon. On October 17, 1980, it was designated as a National Monument under the previous NMC regulations.
