
Ali Alshuaibi, a luminary in the field of architecture, embarked on his journey at King Saud University, earning his Bachelor’s degree in Architecture in 1972. His quest for knowledge took him to the prestigious MIT Institute in the USA, where he obtained a Master’s in Urban Design in 1975. That same year, alongside Abdel Rahman al-Husseini, he established the BEEAH Company. Balancing academia and practice, he imparted knowledge as a lecturer at King Saud University while spearheading numerous architectural ventures across and beyond Saudi Arabia.
Ali Alshuaibi’s architectural ethos is deeply rooted in harmony with the locale, environment, and cultural essence. His illustrious career, spanning from the 1970s, showcases a portfolio rich with construction, urban design, and contributions to urban environmental organizations. His signature can be found on projects like the Saudi embassies in Sana’a, Tunisia, Morocco, the Sabiko Tower in Islamabad, the Madina Secretariat, and the King Abdullah Energy City. His dedication to integrating architecture with local context and community culture has been recognized internationally, earning him accolades such as the Aga Khan International Architecture Award.
Ali Alshuaibi’s expertise led to an invitation to lead the Department of Planning and Environmental Architecture at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Design (GSD). He has held prominent positions such as the chair of the Saudi Society for Architecture, the Saudi Committee for Ecomus, and Vice President of the Saudi Society for Conservation of Heritage, and has been an influential member of various urbanization committees and institutions.
In 2021, Alshuaibi’s passion for nurturing talent culminated in the creation of a new business incubator, a hub for innovators with a keen interest in architecture, fostering a community of creators.
