History


The Central Mosque of Pattani Province was built in 1954 using the area along the Pattani-Yala Royal Road , Ano Ru Sub -district, 3 rai 55 square wa, in accordance with the idea of ​​the government at that time that wanted peace in the area. far from where violence often occurs. Both from undeveloped living conditions and religious differences by Pol. Gen. Phao Sriyanon, Minister of the Interior, came to lay the foundation stone on July 6 , 1957 and it took 9 years to build when After completion, Field Marshal Sarit Thanarat, Prime Minister, came to officially inaugurate on May 25, 1963, named it "Central Mosque of Pattani Province"  and given as a gift to the Muslim people in the area.

After that, there were renovations and additions when used to welcome His Majesty the King. along with Her Majesty the Queen On October 21, 1993, Her Majesty the Queen ordered Mr. Samphan Thongsamak, the Minister of Education to renovate the building of the mosque. The Ministry of Education has designated a project to honor His Majesty the King. He reigned for the 50th year in 1996  , causing the building to expand and expand on both sides and also build 2 more minarets later.

Urban and Architectural


This mosque was designed by Mr. Prampom Muangkhiew, Architect of the Department of Religious Affairs. The mosque's exterior is modeled after the Taj Mahal, topped by a large green dome in the middle of a two-story reinforced concrete building. and a smaller dome encircled 4 sides. On each side are two minarets, and a pond in front of it beautifully reflects the shadow of the mosque. The interior is made into a hall. There are balconies on both sides. There is a tall and narrow mimbar , beautifully decorated with marble. after restoration Currently, the mosque's building has been extended to both sides, with four minarets and an enlarged pool.
