History

Urban and Architectural

The facade of the mosque features two terraced domes consisting of one main dome on the roof of the building and a smaller dome on the entrance terrace. This shape is reminiscent of the shape of the mosque in Kelantan, Malaysia.

In addition to the two domes, there are also two domes placed on the right and left sides of the building. At the four corners of the main dome there are towers that rise high to add a majestic effect to the entire mosque.

The dominance of the light blue color throughout the body of the building and the blue-green accents on the dome create a cool impression in the scorching heat of Dumai. The existence of a small garden in the front yard, side and back of the mosque adds to the beauty of the Al-Manan Grand Mosque environment.

Entering the space in the mosque, it looks homely impression. This impression is reinforced by the use of a light blue color without many ornamental details and the shape of the doors and window openings that tend to be minimalist.

The minimalist appearance in the main room makes the mihrab decorated with calligraphy paintings and carved wooden pulpits a visual aspect that is quite prominent. The colorful calligraphy paintings were made by the same calligrapher as the Great Mosque of An-Nur, Pekanbaru, Riau.
