Dongguan Mosque
History
n 2001, Chang'an Mosque was established spontaneously in Shangsha Village by the villagers of Hualong Ansido, and two rooms were rented to set up a place of worship. According to the imam of the mosque, Mamu Haimai, the number of people who came to worship at that time had exceeded 60. In 2004, as the number of worshipers increased year by year, the Muslim brothers jointly raised funds to expand and rent three rooms. There are still more than 100 people. With the increase in the number of people, in 2008, the Muslim Brothers relocated the mosque to Shatou Village and expanded the area to more than 400 square meters.
Urban and Architectural
In the Ming period, the mosque consisted of a single courtyard with a worship hall and two multi-storey minarets. The modern mosque is built in Chinese Islamic architectural style and contains elements of western architecture.
The mosque has colorful white arches along the outside of the wide building. It has a green and white dome and two tall minarets.
