The construction of the mosque started on 14 September 2015 and completed in less than two years. It was formally opened on 19 May 2017 by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the Sultan of Brunei after attending the first Jumu'ah being held in the mosque.The mosque was supported as a endowment from an anonymous donor.

The building is equipped with the main prayer hall for male congregants, a prayer area for female congregants, imam's and muezzin's room, a store room, kitchen, a reading room, a assembly room, a multi-purpose room, partitioned wash rooms and bathing zones, a room for burial ceremonies and a car park.
