Mosque of Twenty-Five Prophets

Urban and Architectural

At first, the Ihsanov family and volunteers manually flooded the foundation. At the same time there was a filling of the ravine: every spring the place of work was flooded with meltwater, and the ravine turned into a lake, which could be crossed only by boat. Professional builders called the idea of Ihsanov a gamble, but he achieved it: a huge ravine disappeared.

All the drawings and calculations of the future building of the Mosque Ihsanov made himself. At the same time, the project of the mosque was repeatedly changed during the construction and the final appearance was found only in 2009. The building consists of two parts: underground and terrestrial. The underground part is a hand-crafted concrete monolith 12.5 meters long and 15 meters high. As it was erected, the entire area around the mosque - three hectares - was covered with soil, forming a new level on which, in turn, the ground part of the building, made of brick, was erected. In the underground part there are two floors: the upper - for the reading room, the lower - sleeping. In the ground two-story part are the main rooms for prayer - men's and women's floors.

Description

On the east side is a mihrab - it is pentagonal (by the number of prayers). The first and second floors of the mihrab are separated by three protrusions, symbolizing the three main stages of human existence: birth, marriage, eternity. On the second floor of the mihrab, a single window symbolizing the entrance to Paradise is made with a single-row masonry. The drawing of mosaic glass in the window reflects the stages of human existence.

Any element of the mosque is symbolic. On the south and north sides of the building there are three windows with two-row brickwork: the first row means life, the second - eternity. The pattern of mosaic glass in the windows repeats the ornament of the cover of the Koran. The metal frame of the dome is formed by intersecting vertical and horizontal elements - similar to parallels and meridians of the globe. The semicircular part of the dome is covered with sheets of gold leaf and is topped with a pyramid with three balls, on top of it a crescent moon is installed, in the cylindrical part of the dome - 16 windows with mosaic glasses handmade.

The mosaic drawing of the first window (above the mihrab) is dedicated to the Almighty - the Arabic script reproduces the spelling "Allah is the only". Further, clockwise, the mosaics in the windows are dedicated to 25 prophets, and their names are in Arabic script.

Finally, the drawing of the sixteenth window is made similar to the first window and is dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad-Rasul. And it should be noted that all the windows were installed on Fridays - it was on this day that all the Prophets and Messengers were born and departed into Eternity.

In June 2010, at a UNESCO scientific conference, where Ikhsanov made a presentation on the mosque, he was awarded the copyright certificate. So the mosque of 25 prophets was recognized as unique.
