Sari Asih Karawaci Mosque

Urban and Architectural

The Sari Asih Karawaci Mosque building is mostly dominated by blue facade with its distinctive glass dome. The coloring becomes one of the symbols made by US&P Architects in carrying out the concept of Moroccan architecture combined with Persian nuances. Every detail on the exterior facade, ceiling and door of the mosque becomes its own mosaic that supports the concept. No doubt, the Persian and Moroccan architectural styles are found in the Masjid Sari Asih Karawaci Mosque. This is due to many uses of Islamic motifs that are applied to this building of prayer. But more interestingly, US&P Architects combines the concept with Modern Architecture. This can be seen in the Glass Dome that is used in order to give a modern impression of the mosque. The use of the Glass Dome is one of the savings on the use of lighting in space. In addition, this dome is a Vocal Point, both exterior and interior inside. Supported by the detailed details of Islamic motifs with the same coloring as the exterior, this adds to the strong application of Persian and Moroccan architecture at the Sari Asih Karawaci Mosque.
