Dar Alsalam Mosque

Description

Jamie Darussalam Mosque is located on Jl. Sudirman, Jakarta, adjacent to the Thamrin Nine project. The location of this mosque is in a dense residential area adjacent to the office area.

For the construction of this mosque, the client buys some people’s land in the location. But because not all community land can be purchased the form of site to be built is irregular. Thus the design method to solve this site issue is to take an axis that leads to the Qiblah. The room for approximately 1000 prayers and other needs is on the 2nd floor, while the 1st floor is used as a multipurpose room that can be used by the community around the mosque, the total building area of this mosque is around 700 m2.

The design concept of the Jamie Darussalam mosque is using triangular geometric shape which is sliced representing a row of worshipers who are praying. In addition, the basic triangle shape is intended so that this building character would have a unity with the surrounding environment in this case is realized by following the typology of the roofs of homes in the village where the Jamie Darussalam mosque was founded.

In addition to the mosque building, an additional building will also be provided for the surrounding community to develop the Small and Medium Enterprises and open areas that become the intermediate space caused by differences in elevation of about 1.5 meters from the average building in the village. Higher elevation is caused by the location is a flood-prone area. Mihrab of the mosque faces a busy street and in the middle of a crowded village, but mihrab is designed left open but uses tree elements as a silencer.

Details on the appearance and exterior of the building use Tauhid phrase elements in the form of Islamic calligraphy.
