Novy Urengoy Central Mosque


History


Novy Urengoy is an interesting and diverse city, which is home to many peoples with different religions. It has Orthodox churches and a Muslim mosque. It was inaugurated in 2010.

 All work on the construction of the mosque was carried out free of charge by the Turkish company "Yamata", the rest of the buildings of the complex were erected by the method of folk construction: with voluntary donations from citizens, enterprises and organizations of the city.

 Today, on the territory of the Cathedral Mosque, there is the mosque itself, the minaret, and the construction of a madrasah is underway.

The dimensions of the mosque are 22 x 12 m. The building area of the mosque is 555.5 sq.m., the total area of the building is about 850 sq.m.

 The opening of a religious and educational institution for Muslims is scheduled for October. The two-story building was erected with the support of Governor Dmitry Artyukhov next to the administrative premises at the Cathedral Mosque. Work on the site began in 2020. The madrasah will serve as a secondary general education school. Inside, classrooms are provided - separately for women and men, a mufti's office, a teacher's room, a conference room, a library, a room for eating and others. Furniture and equipment, including interactive whiteboards, computers, office equipment, have already been purchased. It is planned to recruit three classes of 20 people, a teacher from Ufa has been invited, writes Sever Press.
