Dato Bentara Luar Mosque
History
The mosque was built in the 1930s, and completed in 1934.
Urban and Architectural
The mosque's building comprises three components, which are linked together with an open veranda crea. The veranda areas provide for a covered walkway from the entrance porch directly into the mosque. A two-storeyed flat roof building accommodates the mincret, reminiscent of an Art Deco style structure with long and narrow-framed fenestrations. The building does provide for a central entrance porch, ornamented with a simple triangular cornice pattern. The minaret, on the other hand, is formed on an octagonal base, divided into three tiers with the similar cornice, before it is surmounted on a concrete cloister vault dome. A peculiar round pattern ornamentation is each four side of the minarets.
