Malek Fahd Islamic School
History
A single campus of Malek (King) Fahd Islamic School was established in Greenacre in October 1989. King Fahd of Saudi Arabia donated $12 million to help guarantee the acquisition of the school's land. In 2013, there were more than 2,000 pupils enrolled at the school, which opened with 87 kindergarten through third-grade students.
The school debuted in 2007 when it placed ninth in the state's HSC rankings.
The school opened two sites in Hoxton Park and Beaumont Hills in April 2011 to accommodate kids in early primary school.
Ray Barrett was chosen as the school's first Christian headmaster in June 2013 by the School Board, which was led by Tom Alegounarias.
Urban and Architectural
The School mosque has a modern feel. The facade brickwork is a distinguishing feature with two tones: orange and beige. A main large dome and a modern Ottoman-style minaret mark the facade.
