Brazil Mosque


History


Its architecture follows the patterns of the Muslim temples and enchants by its shapes and by the richness of details in the finishing of its interior. Its construction was idealized by architect Paulo Camasmie, who also designed the Orthodox Cathedral of São Paulo. Although the mosque started its activities in 1927, it was only inaugurated in 1956. It is located in the neighborhood of Cambuci, in the city of São Paulo, and is currently considered one of the most important in Latin America, being the first mosque built in Brazil.
