Panglima Kinta Mosque was built in 1898 by Datoh Panglima Kinta Muhammad Yusuff bin Lassam. In that year also the wife of Datoh Panglima Kinta named Saaidah bt. Chik passed away in Ipoh and this Mosque was built to commemorate his beloved wife.

The mosque was gazetted as a heritage building in 2012 by the National Heritage Department.
