
The main objective of this research is to review the history of the Muslim community present in Bogotá and the economic aspect present in it and how this aspect is understood at an individual and group level and how it differs from other communities abroad. The first part of the investigation covers the historical aspect, referring to different antecedents (for example, the Colony, the decline and fall of the Ottoman Empire, the crisis of the East in the 20th century, etc.) that have been relevant or crucial for the establishment of the Muslim community in different areas of Colombia, highlighting the process of configuration of the community of Bogota. The second part of the investigation refers to the importance given to the economic component present in Islam, how it has developed historically, how the Islamic economy is conceived at present and what are the different forms and mechanisms that have been created from this and finally how the economic aspect is conceived in the community of Bogota from different initiatives.
