Sidi-Bou-Makhlouf Mosque
History
The Sidi Bou Makhlouf mausoleum is a Tunisian zaouia built at the foot of the ramparts of the Kasbah of the city of Kef in the 17th century.
Urban and Architectural
The monument, as it stands today, is the result of several stages of construction. The primitive nucleus, comprising a simple open-air sanctuary (khaloua) dates from the 17th century. During the 18th century, the room that houses the tomb of the saint, whose name the building bears, was built and covered with a dome.
