An-Nur Jamek Mosque
History
the construction project was started on June 9, 1980 AD but for some technical reasons, the project was postponed. However, on 16 April 1984 AD after Labuan Island was made the second Federal Territory after Kuala Lumpur , this project was taken over and implemented under the administration of the Federal government.
Urban and Architectural
The combination architecture are from Brunei Malay architectural elements mix with the Turkish architecture. As a result of these two influences has produced a new mosque has a unique identity and beautiful. The mosque is equipped with a dome-shaped dome and two tall towers on both sides of the mosque and also equipped with a number of facilities and equipment for public use such as three lecture halls, Darul Hikmah Library, administrative offices and a break room for VIPs.

Masjid Jamek An-Nur is the centerpiece and backbone of the island’s Muslim community.
The mosque’s most distinguishing feature is perhaps its futuristic, sci-fi dome resembling a gigantic shuttlecock from a distance, or spacecraft poised for lift-off.
