Al Rahman Al Rahim Mosque
History
A mosque in Cairo, Egypt, called El-Rahman El-Raheem or Al-Rahman Al-Rahim. It is situated on Salah Salem Street in the Abbassiya area. The mosque is well known for its inclusion of Islamic motifs from many Islamic architectural types. It was constructed by an Egyptian businessman, and "Katb Ketab" wedding celebrations are one of its most well-known uses. It is renowned for hosting a lot of well-known funerals.
Urban and Architectural
Rectangualr plan with a big central dom, four smaller domes in the corners and two high minarets. The mosque hosts a main prayers hall, women's prayer hall, abultion spaces. The main prayer hall contains a mihrab and a minbar facing the direction of qibla towards Mecca. There's also an annex building next to the main building of the mosque.
Description
The mosque has different motifs from different islamic architectural styles. It hosts many wedding ceremonies and funerals. The location of the plot of the mosque is cornered allowing it to be accessed from two roads, one main road and a secondary one.
