Wellington Masjid
History
This serves as the Muslim community in Wellington's religious hub. There are roughly 5000-person capacity male and female prayer halls (Masjid) available, as well as a multipurpose room for events, lectures, conferences, seminars, and other dawah activities. Six classrooms are available for teaching Islamiya and the Qur'an, along with a computer lab for researching the internet and Islamic software and a library. There is a wedding celebrant available.
This is where the Imam's offices are. Additionally, there are three prayer rooms and centers in Porirua, the Hutt Valley, and Newlands (city, Newtown and the university) provides educational sessions, such as a Tafsir program, a Tabligh program, children's classes in Somali, classes on the Qur'an, classes for new Muslims, and reviews of the fundamentals of Islam.
A display and information on Islam (including Islamic materials) are available to non-Muslims in the entryway.
