The plan is 35 meters long and 28 meters wide, making it almost square. The building is made up of 4 walls with heights ranging from 7 to 10 meters and 100 earthen pillars that symbolise the 100 names of God. Each pillar is 5 meters tall and 1,7 meters square. There are eight entryways, six windows, and several ornaments (moon, stars, prayer movements with particular use of slates, beads).
The Great Mosque continues to be used for daily prayers today. Every 17th day of the Ramadan month, it commemorates its founding.
