The mosque was built initially in 1812 and was finished in 1832. The mosque has since undergone numerous expansion and repair projects. A portion of the courtyard was covered with a tin roof in 1983.
Mud brick, horizontal beams, and projected wooden beams were used to build the mosque. It has two tower minarets. The prayer hall is divided into two sections that were built at various times. The prayer hall’s older part, which has seven transverse aisles, is found near the eastern end. The more recent part has two additional transverse aisles and is situated at the western end.
