Dato Bentara Luar Mosque is located on Jalan Masjid, Batu Pahat, opposite the Batu Pahat Stadium. This mosque used to be the main District Mosque before the construction of the new mosque. nevertheless, this mosque building is still strong and used until now.
The mosque’s building comprises three components, which are linked together with an open veranda crea. The veranda areas provide for a covered walkway from the entrance porch directly into the mosque. A two-storeyed flat roof building accommodates the mincret, reminiscent of an Art Deco style structure with long and narrow-framed fenestrations. The building does provide for a central entrance porch, ornamented with a simple triangular cornice pattern. The minaret, on the other hand, is formed on an octagonal base, divided into three tiers with the similar cornice, before it is surmounted on a concrete cloister vault dome. A peculiar round pattern ornamentation is each four side of the minarets.
