Known as Masjid Ar-Rahman (Masjid of the Most Compassionate), it was the first mosque to be built in Jamaica. The mosque is located in Spanish Town. In 1957, Mohammed Khan – an Indian immigrant – started the construction of the mosque, and today his first-born son is the community’s imam.
