The Queenstown Jama Masjid is located on Church Street, in Queenstown, Georgetown. The masjid was established in 1895 and the first mosque was built the same year. The Queenstown Masjid was constructed to cater to the needs of Indian indentured servants and Afghan workers to practice their Islamic faith freely. This mosque was renovated a number of times before being demolished in 2007, paving the way for the second mosque.
