The Islamic building is located between Tacna and Alfonso Ugarte streets, a few kilometers from the Church of the Inmaculado CorazĂłn de MarĂa.
Its facade is not exactly similar to that of an oriental mosque, which is why many do not use the term “masjid” to define the temple. Its interior has separate musalas for women and men, filled with prayer mats in the direction of Mecca in Saudi Arabia. It is the main place of the Muslim community in Peru, is the celebration point of Ramadan in the country, and is the main headquarters of the Islamic Association of Peru.
