_Canning Suleymaniye Mosque

Information

Canning Suleymaniye Mosque is located on a very important busy road in Cannington, namely Welshpool Road. It is named after Turkish/Ottoman mosques, and was established by the Turkish Islamic Association of Canning.

The small mosque has eclectic architectural features. The brick minaret is inspired by the Ottoman minarets, even though it is proportionally different. The rest of the materials are modern and local materials. The central dome is an onion-shaped dome (Indian subcontinent as a reference) surrounded by four small onion-shaped domes.
