Rostov-on-Don Mosque

Information

Rostov-on-Don Cathedral Mosque is the only functioning mosque in the city of Rostov-on-Don, Rostov Oblast, Russia. The new mosque was constructed between 1999 and 2003. The building consists of two floors: the ground floor is designated for women’s prayer and also hosts Sunday school classes, while the upper floor is reserved exclusively for men’s prayers. On weekends, the mosque offers educational classes covering the Arabic language, the Qur’an, and the history of Islam, serving as an important center for religious learning and community engagement.

Adjacent to the mosque stands a 27-meter-high minaret, enhancing the mosque’s traditional architectural presence. The building is also fitted with a special heating system that maintains the floor temperature at 37°C during winter, ensuring comfort for worshippers throughout the colder months.
