A mosque in Klang, Selangor, Malaysia, located on the banks of the Klang River, giving it the appearance of a floating mosque.
It was built on the site of a smaller mosque known as the Klang Utara Mosque. In 2003, construction of the new mosque began due to overcrowding in it and nearby mosques, and was completed in 2009.
The mosque is equipped with many facilities, such as a main prayer hall, offices, lecture rooms, outdoor prayer halls, funeral preparation rooms, and catering room.
From above, its domes form the shape of a flower. From the inside, its interior seems large with high ceilings. The mosque’s unique design is a strong draw for tourists. Its unique design features eight half domes surrounding a central dome, resembling a flower, in keeping with the concept of a “floating mosque” due to its riverside location. The mosque can hold 400-500 people normally but up to 3,000 on Fridays, and its architecture was influenced by 45 mosques in the Middle East.
