Until a few years ago, the Islamic religion, except for a few regions in the Caribbean, was more of a curiosity in Latin America. Recently, remarkable changes have taken place: strong proselytizing initiatives have set their sights on different countries, and the result has been an increase in conversions and associated phenomena, such as greater visibility and participation in debates.This paper aims to show different dimensions of this new presence: in the confessional offer, in political debates and in the Latin American imaginary.
