
Toorman studied Architecture and Construction Technology at TU Delft . After numerous freelance assignments in collaboration with Nol Heuvelhorst, Bert Toorman joins the partnership Heuvelhorst Architecten. At that time he also designed the Suleymaniye Mosque in Tilburg in addition to the Mevlana Mosque . In 2001 he founded his own office, Toorman Architecten Schiedam.
Bert Toorman has been working as an architect in various partnerships since 1989. Toorman Architecten Schiedam is active in residential construction, utility construction and construction for care, sports and culture. In addition, Toorman Architecten Schiedam is known for so-called company makeovers: outdated commercial buildings that have been fully equipped for the future with architectural adjustments.
