Khadija Mosque


History


The Khadija Mosque foundation stone was laid by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad in 02/01/2007, more than 85 years after the cessation of the initial project of the ‘Berlin Mosque’. It was inaugurated 21 months later on 16th October 2008 in Berlin. With the construction of Khadija Mosque in Berlin in 2008, the Berlin Mosque project was at last completed. Hazrat Khalifatul Masih V, opened the mosque in a big event, which was extensively covered by the media. The money was raised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim women's auxillary organization female Ahmadi architect designed the mosque itself, thus in this way, the second Khalifah’s vision of the Berlin mosque was finally fulfilled after 85 years.

Urban and Architectural


A mosque is a modern two story building which has one minaret 4.5 m, and one dome with a height of 4.5 and a diameter of 9.0m. Khadija mosque is built on a piece of land which is 4790 m² large. It contains two prayer rooms that fits for 250 women and 250 men each with ablution spaces, a building for housing for imam, guest house, library, conference room, offices and a park.
